A good garden design is one that looks good, fits the homeowner’s lifestyle and meets their needs with regard to maintenance input.
To achieve all of those things requires the consideration of the homeowner’s sense of style and taste, the features that are required, the space available, the architecture of the home, the local weather conditions, the soil type and the surrounding environment.
These things will then dictate the features, such as outdoor entertainment spaces, outdoor kitchens, swimming pools, spas, tennis courts, play spaces, veggie patches, verandas, sheds, retaining walls, artwork etc.
Following on from that will be a consideration of plant selection. Ease of maintenance will dictate the plant selection for most people but will be less of a consideration for keen gardeners. Additionally the style of the garden, the style of home and the homeowner’s preferences for foliage or flowers will influence the available choices.
Once the plants are chosen the infrastructure for maintenance will need to be considered. Among these will be automatic irrigation, Robot lawnmowers and the available hardware and software for remote control.
Living Pictures By Tony Stanton are the landscape designers Adelaide residents have used for over 30 years tailoring stunning garden design solutions to their clients lifestyle, carefully matching the outside spaces to the home.
Typically there are 3 different types of plans.
-
Concept Design Plan Sketch
The first, a concept plan is drawn up by hand at the first meeting. This is generally a 1 & ½ hour meeting where landscape designer Tony Stanton will come out on-site and listen to what your thoughts and ideas are for the transformation.
A sketch is created to visualise what the garden makeover could look like.
Clients wishing to proceed to the next step typically then have both detailed hardscape construction plans and softscape design plans drawn up to scale. -
Hardscape Construction Design Plan
A hardscape plan shows the location and detail of all man made elements such as paving, retaining walls, paths, pools and structural garden features like firepits or waterfalls.
-
Softscape Design Plan
A softscape plan simply put is all about the greenery, the initial size and location of all the trees, shrubs, turf, mulch and soil.
The design process Living Pictures By Tony Stanton has put in place is to make it as easy and seamless as possible for clients.
There are 3 steps covering the 3 different core services offered by Tony.
